Graduation

We may be an innovative high school, but we still value tradition. Each year, the UNL Independent Study High School holds a commencement ceremony to honor new Independent Study High School graduates.

During this celebration, graduates don cap and gown and march down the isle to “Pomp and Circumstance.” After the ceremony, students are treated to a reception, where they are provided the opportunity to mingle with fellow graduates, family and members of the Independent Study High School faculty and staff.

This unique ceremony also offers graduates the opportunity to visit the University of Nebraska—Lincoln campus and experience all that Lincoln has to offer:

Ceremony festivities include:
• Graduation ceremony and reception (Photographer will be present to capture the moment)
• Graduation luncheon
• Optional campus tour

Lincoln activities and attractions include:
• Theatre
• Shopping
• Lincoln Saltdogs baseball
• Nebraska Cornhusker athletics
• Tour the UNL Campus
• Museums and art galleries
• Unique dining
• Numerous festivals year round
