Selecting a Proctor
Proctors play a key role in the experience of every UNL Independent Study High School student. The main function of each proctor is to administer closed-book tests, but they may also aid in setting schedules and establishing effective study habits.
Therefore, selecting the right proctor will lead to a positive experience with each course. The following guidelines will lead to selecting an effective proctor:
• The best choice for a proctor is typically an educator. This may include teachers, counselors, administrators, head librarians or extension educators.
• Military families may use base education officers, chaplains and higher level commissioned officers to serve as proctor.
• Students living overseas may use embassy or consulate officials to serve as proctor.
• Family members may not serve as proctors.
If you have any questions regarding your choice of proctor, contact Lisa Bourlier at 402-472-4338 or lbourlier2@unl.edu .
